Each cable is made of 140 0.04mm diameter conductors in an eight-wire to four-wire braid configuration, with a proven twisted design. Twisting the wires reduces the energy of the magnetic fields produced by each wire, allowing us to reduce noise and signal interference.

The Meze copper-silver PCUHD cable has a dark bronze-copper colored sleeve (TPE). It is braided, oxygen-free, and has a purity of 99.99 percent (5 ppm or less).

The 99 Series SPC cable combines the best of both worlds. It’s neither pale and bright nor warm and mushy, but neither were the 99 Classics. The SPC cable immediately sounds tighter and more nimble when compared to the stock OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) cable. 

It reduces some of the 99 Classics’ inherent warmth, resulting in more precision and a cleaner overall sound.

The tighter bass also benefits the midrange, as expected. Mids become more transparent and cleaner throughout with less mid-bass bleed. 

This improves separation and layering while also making the stage appear more organized. The increased transparency also makes macro and micro details more visible.

The intention was to measure improvement via the various Meze Empyrean upgrade cables over its various terminations. Which included—2.5mm, 4.4mm, 6.3mm, and XLR (4-pin). 

But when evaluating these terminations with the upgrade cables and with the various sources. The same improvement and differentiation held true across all cables.

The copper PCUHD provided a truly noticeable improvement over the standard cable. The silver-plated copper PCUHD provided a distinct improvement over the copper PCUHD in several ways, as summarized below.
