Sivga – SV023: Originating in China Sivga is well-known for producing high-quality headphones with a wood finish. They got their start a few years ago and have a few pairs of headphones under their belt. Since its inception, Siva has been producing eye-catching designs as well as intriguingly equipped headphones.

Wooden headphones are a relative niche market, but Dongguan-based audio company Sivga is a serious player in it. 

Following the success of their P-II headphones, they released several other wooden headphones, the most recent being the SV023. The SV023 is distinguished from the SV021 by its higher build quality and open-back design.

Aesthetics Design for Optimum Comfort 

Wooden headphones always have a nice aesthetic that is difficult to beat. While on the larger side, the SV023 looks fantastic and strikes the perfect balance between classic and modern headphone design. 

The walnut housing and aluminum frame provide an inviting and serious look, and the mesh grill pattern for the open back is integrated.

The headphones are extremely comfortable and can be worn for extended periods of time. The high-quality cable-labeled L/R sides, and leather carrying case are all excellent additions.

The 50mm driver in the SV023 is made of an aviation-grade aluminum alloy. A Liquid Crystal Polymer coats the beryllium diaphragm. The magnet constructed from high-performance NdFeB material. 

The housing itself is made of hand-selected walnut and is meticulously carved and hand polished. Its design shows a great deal of thought.

One thing to keep in mind is that these have a very high impedance and will need an amp to get the most out of the listening experience. The frequency response of the Sivga SV023 is 20 Hz – 40 kHz, and the impedance is 300 Ohms.

Sivga – SV023 Sound Quality 

The SV023’s open-back design, unsurprisingly, lends itself to an incredibly open soundstage. Everything has a lot of width and dimension, and the sound character is more open and enveloping overall. 

The panning is distinct, separated, and organic. The dynamics are fantastic, and with a good amp, it can drive to high volumes before distorting.

The isolation is typical of open-back headphones, but in a quiet environment, the sounds become incredibly immersive.

SV023 provides a well-rounded performance that leaves little to be desired. It doesn’t have a lot of basses and has a well-balanced spectrum with a mild W-shaped signature. 

SV023 accomplishes all of this without sacrificing resolution or definition. The SV023 is similar to the most recent headgear in that it lacks color while having neutral timber.

The SV023 is a clear winner from Sivga in terms of sound, build, and comfort. When it comes to open-back dynamic headphones, the SV023 is one of the best to try. Its signature is broad and grand, with an unusual level of pinpoint accuracy.
