This is a very special earphone and certainly one of the best out there. But beware, the Prophile 8 is not a normal easy-going pleaser, but more a bone-dry mastering tool, made by pros for pros. However, as the word spread quickly, it became also a legend among the most demanding audiophiles. And yes, it deserves a 5-star rating. Super analytical, fast, radical and non-forgiving. If you want it pure, go for the Reference sound, if you’d rather have a bit fun, take the V-shaped version (yet, it’s still a super honest earphone). Or why not have both in one and take the one with the switchable sound signature. I love the honesty and simplicity of the Prophile 8. And I love that it’s not just another boom boom IEM, but one of its kind. Two thumbs up!
